February 10th - live at La Marche à coté!
I'm very happy to announce that we will launch The Quiet Years on February 10th at La Marche à coté (5043 St Denis, close to Mount Royal metro)! I'm taking a slightly different approach to this show. It will be only me, for one hour. I will sing and tell stories. It will be EARLY - doors at 6:00 and music from 6:30 to 7:30. And it will be on time too. (I saw the Born Ruffians open for the New Pornographers earlier this year and the show started so precisely on time. I thought "this is groundbreaking. This is revolutionary. I want to be a part of this new movement. #ontime) It will be FREE. There will be ample time afterwards to talk and carouse and quaff the many fine quaffables. So please, please come. It won't be the same without you :)
In other news: I have taken the staggering and unprecedented move of staying home from work because I am ill. This is huge for me. #personalgrowth In my last blog post, I mentioned that I had been sick for two weeks. My show in Kingston went off well, I was able to sing through it and I did not cough in anybody's face and a few days after that I was feeling better. I had maybe two-ish weeks of feeling ok and then BOOM. ANOTHER COLD. 0_0 e_e >_< Except apparently this is not a cold and it's a sinus infection so I do feel justified to just sit on the couch for a day. Here is a snapshot of me sitting on the couch: [knit knit knit, research, shop for xmas presents, promo promo promo, booking, knit zzzzzzzzz]. I am not good at taking it easy which is probably why I have a sinus infection in the first place. I do get a hell of a lot done though, so there's that.
I wish everyone a very happy Christmas and all the best for 2018. May the next time we see each other be a merry meeting amongst friends. xo
